What to Expect

Your First Visit to Carolina Oncology Specialists

Your initial visit includes a capture and review of your personal medical history with a preliminary physical examination by a physician assistant or a nurse practitioner in conjunction with the physician’s exam. After completing your examination and review of your medical records, the physician will discuss your disease with you, and in most cases, make his or her recommendations for your plan of care. The physician may require additional blood tests, a procedure, or x-rays and scans to complete his evaluation prior to making his recommendations.

PATIENT FORMS

Return Appointments

A staff member will schedule and provide information concerning additional tests or x-rays. You will then be given a return appointment, generally within a day or so following completion of your studies. At your return appointment, the physician will then provide results to you and make his recommendations for your care. In any case, you may include family members or friends in hearing your results and to discuss your plan of treatment.
